I was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania in a family of doctors.  I graduated from St. Sava National College as valedictorian, with a degree in Math and Physics.

I attended Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy and was the valedictorian of my Medical School class in 1992.

I trained in Adult Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, and then I pursued a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

I am Board Certified and Recertified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry

I have been in private practice since 2000,  and I have provided both office based services and consultation for different mental health agencies.  Since 2008, I have been the medical director for Magnolia Creek Eating Disorder Center, and then Highlands Eating Disorder Center.

As a Birmingham psychiatrist, I want to bring you my vision of personalized and integrated psychiatry.  This vision was born from my interests and education in therapy and medication management.  I graduated from a two year program of  Studies in  Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute, and I have trained in psychopharmacology at the The Neuroscience Education Institute.
